On the 5th of December, BLOC held a very well attended information evening for the company's next production: Urinetown!
The production team was introduced, including Stage Director - Emanuelle Vergier, Music Director - Steven De Mesmaeker, Producer - Meera Laurijssen and Assistant Producer - Alexander Just. During the evening Giselle Maksoud - a previous Stage Manager for BLOC productions - volunteered to join the team, and so the production team is now in great form!
Meera ran through some practical details for all.
- All auditions and rehearsals are planned to take place at

For Urinetown, the last two Mondays in January will be read-throughs. All principals should attend these sessions, chorus are welcome.
Through February, principals will have rehearsals on Monday evenings and chorus on Tuesday evenings. From the beginning of March through to the performance season, all cast will be needed at rehearsals on Sunday afternoons.
Emanuelle gave some background information about the musical itself. We watched some clips of other productions, including some of the excerpts performed by BLOC in "BLOC-busters" - May 2016.
Led by Steven and with the able contributions of George Rahim on the piano, everyone had a go at singing the gospel inspired number "Run Freedom Run". This will be the chorus audition number. More specific information and sheet music will be available shortly - and all those who have submitted audition forms will be sent the link. To make sure you don't miss it, fill in your audition form!
